Class 7 MOT Testing in Sunbury-on-Thames

Not every MOT centre can test larger vans. The Factory carries out Class 7 MOTs on site for goods vehicles over 3,000kg and up to 3,500kg design gross weight — the large panel vans and light commercials many trades rely on.

Because we’re a full mechanical workshop, any faults can be quoted and repaired here, which keeps your working vehicle off the road for as little time as possible.

Which vehicles need a Class 7 MOT?

Class 7 applies to goods vehicles with a design gross weight over 3,000kg up to 3,500kg. The design gross weight is usually shown on the manufacturer’s plate, often found in a door shut or under the bonnet, and may also appear in the vehicle documents.

The test covers similar areas to Class 4 but is set up for heavier vehicles. If you’re unsure which class applies, send us the registration and a photo of the plate and we’ll help.

What we check

  • Brakes and braking performance for heavier vehicles
  • Steering, suspension and axles
  • Tyres, wheels and load-related wear
  • Lights, reflectors and signalling
  • Body, load area security and structure
  • Exhaust, emissions and noise

What we can do

  • Class 7 MOT testing on site
  • Commercial vehicle repairs following failure
  • Servicing for vans alongside the MOT
  • Retests after repair
