What is a Class 4 MOT?

The MOT is an annual test of roadworthiness and emissions required for most vehicles over three years old. Class 4 applies to cars, most passenger vehicles with up to eight passenger seats, motor caravans and goods vehicles up to 3,000kg design gross weight.

The test is a snapshot of the vehicle’s condition on the day. It is not a service and doesn’t look at the condition of the engine, clutch or gearbox — which is why we recommend servicing alongside.

What is a Class 4 MOT?

Do you carry out Class 4 MOTs on site?

Yes. The Factory is a DVSA-authorised MOT test centre and tests are carried out on site on our dedicated MOT ramp.

Can I get a same-day MOT?

Same-day availability may be possible depending on the day’s workload. WhatsApp us your registration and we’ll check.

How early can I have my MOT carried out?

You can have the MOT up to a month (minus a day) before it runs out and keep the same renewal date. GOV.UK has the official guidance.

What happens if my car fails its MOT?

We explain each failure item and quote the repair. Whether you can drive the vehicle away depends on the defects and whether your current MOT is still valid — dangerous defects mean it must not be driven.

Can you repair MOT faults at the same workshop?

Yes. As a full mechanical workshop we can carry out most MOT-related repairs on site and arrange the retest.
