Pre-Purchase Vehicle Inspections in Sunbury-on-Thames
Buying a used car is a significant decision, and the most expensive faults are often the hardest to spot on a driveway. A pre-purchase inspection at our workshop gives you an independent mechanical view before money changes hands.
The prospective vehicle needs to be brought to The Factory so it can go on a ramp and be connected to our diagnostic equipment.

What an inspection can and can’t tell you
We can identify existing faults, wear, leaks, stored fault codes and signs of poor previous repair. That gives you a stronger basis to negotiate or walk away.
No inspection can guarantee future reliability — components can fail without warning. What it does is reduce the unknowns as far as reasonably possible.

FAQs
Pre-Purchase Inspections: your questions answered
What do you check before I buy a used car?
Underbody, leaks and corrosion, engine and gearbox behaviour, brakes, suspension, steering, tyres, stored fault codes and consistency of the service history.
Does the vehicle need to be brought to your workshop?
Yes. Inspections are carried out at The Factory so the car can be properly lifted and scanned.
Can you inspect BMW and Land Rover vehicles before purchase?
Yes. These are specialist areas for us, and we know the common issues to look for.
Can a pre-purchase inspection identify hidden mechanical problems?
It can reveal many issues not visible on a test drive — leaks, wear, stored faults and poor repairs. Some faults only develop later and can’t be predicted.
Does an inspection guarantee the car will never develop a fault?
No. It reports the condition on the day. It reduces risk but cannot guarantee future reliability.
